Life is a Highway! Card for FCCB #108 and My Craft Spot #53

Hello and thank you for visiting Okscrappinmama! I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend!
I've got a roast in the crockpot, and I still need to make mashed potatoes and some gravy. I just put 4 cups of water with Lipton onion soup mix, a couple of bay leaves, some minced garlic, pepper the roast and put it in for 8 hours. Smells yummy!!!

I wanted to share a card I created for the FCCB #108 challenge (On the Go) and
My Craft Spot #53 (Things that Go).

5/2/12 I actually won the FCCB challenge with this card.

Details:

This is a white 5x7 card base. Blue & greet paper (swirly on one side and dot on other side) is BoBunny. Sun is from Country Life and I just cut the 1st layer in yellow. The mountains 1.5 high x 7 long (tan dot)and 2 high x 7 long (brown).and the road (cut at 1.85 x 7 long)are from EDPD. The green trees are a punch. Clouds were cut at 1.25 from Paper Pups in blue dot and white. The orange truck and red car are at 1.40 from Boys will Be Boys.

The little sign "Life is a Highway" was actually my starting place/inspiration. That was a sign on some cute little boy truck/car/train paper from BoBunny "On the Go"

Inside sentiment from Pink By Design OH Boy! stamp set and just stamped on the grey cut road.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Friday and a cute little owl card

Hello Crafty Friends and thank you for stopping by Okscrappinmama! I'm starting to really love using my Imagine. Only thing is, I need to tweak the calibration some. I've used it a lot and it's amazing how I'm still on the 1st ink cartridges.

So, here is a cute owl birthday card print/cut on the Imagine.

Challenges:
1) Celebrate the Occasion #60--Birthday and use ribbon by 4/29
2) Getting CrickySimply Sunday Challenge In honor of Earth Day, use an owl on the project
and something recycled. My something recycled was the red twine

a store wrapped present & I kept the ribbon. by 5/5
3) Bitten By the Bug 2--Balloon and Birthday by 4/29

Details:

White 5x7 card base. Card details made on the Imagine using Best Friends (owls, blue background, circles for balloons & sun) The green for the grass was printed/cut from Imagine More.

Owls at 4 and the layers cut and glued together for some depth. Blue for sky was printed in a rectangle with rounded corners at 6". Sun at 1". The circles for the balloons was actually the cherry on top of one of the cupcakes on Best Friends. I cut just the cherry at 2.5 and then flood filled with different printed patterns from the cart. The cupcake cut at 1 and 2x.
Grass (Imagine More at 5)

Used the recycled red/white twine on the balloons. Green ribbon (recycled) and 2 eyelets at the bottom of the card. Momento black ink and MPS Tweety Hoo Puns.

You are my Sunshine--card for 2 challenges

Hello and thank you for stopping by. I don't know about the rest of you with kids but you would think with school winding down that things would slow down. Happy Earth Day--card for Krafty Girls challenge

Happy Saturday and Earth Day! I'm just hanging low today with a cold but thought I'd share a card I made for the Earth Day challenge at Krafty Girls #5 Project Earth. Ok, can you tell I'm loving my Imagine? Been using it a lot lately! I got my rewards cart Nursery Tails on Thursday and it is so darn cute! The images are not just for baby items. The animals are really cute...reminds me a lot of Kate's ABC's.

inside card

DEETS:

This is a 6x6 card...I know big huh? The background (sky, grass, flowers, butterfles, trees, clouds, bird etc. was printed at 6 with the Imagine and nursery tails. The bear (printed 2x)is from Best Friends and printed at 3". I print/cut the layers and then cut the arms out from bear #2 to add dimension around the world. The world was printed from BF too at .90

Added that onto a card base

The word bubble was printed from another Imagine cartridge (??) and I used a stencil for the wording. Remember the song "What a wonderful world" sung by Louis Armstrong? That is what I based the card from

Inside the card is a computer printed sentiment and punched out with an EK success punch.
Globe inside the card printed/cut at 3.5 from Imagine and Best Friends.

Thank you for looking.

Monochromatic, Congrats and Thank You Easel card

Happy Friday Crafters! Today I did something I've never done before...I made an easel card. It was easy peasy. It was so easy I decided to make 2 cards--"Thank You" for DL.Art's Thankful Thursday Challenge and a "Congratulations" for Celebrate the Occasion #59 (Congratulations and monochromatic) and The Cuttlebug Spot (Easel Card)

Congratulations for:
Celebrate the Occasion #59
(Congratulations card and monochromatic)
by 4/22 midnight

The Cuttlebug Spot (easel card and use embossing)

By Mon. Apr 30th

side view of an easel card

DEETS:

Since there are 2 cards, I doubled everything.

Started with an easel card-- 4.25 x 8.5 sheet of black card stock and an extra 4.25 x 4.25 piece of same cardstock. You score the cardstock at 4.25 and 6 3/8. Use scoretape and tape the extra square of 4.25 paper so the tops meet. (see tutorial HERE)

I decorated card with DCWV Black Currant Paper Stack. I just cut some mats for the sentiments to go on in coordinating paper.

Thank you I used the backside of the paper (which is cream)and creatively cuttlebugged with the "Thank You" embossing folder by blocking off the words I didn't want with card stock and then cutting it out. I then used Ranger Inks perfect medium on the embossed "Thanks" and brushed on perfect pearls--pearl powder for a pearly shimmer and subtle effect. In case you didn't know, the perfect medium acts like pigment ink would for embossing powder but the perfect medium is just tacky and clear. It is just like an invisible ink pad.

Congratulations: I used the backside of the paper again and cut a mat and ran through the "Textile" cuttlebug folder. I brushed the Ranger perfect medium & Perfect Pearls onto the embossing. Then matted onto a coordinating paper and stamped congratulations in black Momento ink.

Flowers were cut in various sizes and 5x each : .75, .90, 1, 1.1, 1.2 in the different coordinating papers using cricut Walk in my Garden. I then used a pearl brad as the center of the flower and adhered to base for both cards. Link

Birthday Card for 4 Challenges

Hello again! My dd has a bday party this weekend so I decided to make one card where I could also enter it in 4 challenges. My design starting point was the Peachy Keen Sketch challenge.

Challenges For:

1). Peachy Keen Stamp Sketch #12 X
2) Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog #106--project with at least 1 button and bow X
3) My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #51 Inside and Out Sentiment X
4) Wobble Wednesday #4 Birthday (in celebration of the Scrapbooking Queen turning 50) X

DETAILS:

This is my first time using an action wobble and I believe first time posting a project using my imagine.

Card size is 5 x 6.5 white card base. The pink patterned paper used for the background is an oldie but good from CM. The Pink swirl and dot is Bo Bunny and is actually 2 sided paper. Pink button from the $1 bin at M's and white organza ribbon is Offray from H/L. Eyelets are white from H/L.

Stamps
:
Face on cupcake is from Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kids. Sentiment on front and inside
is from MPS "Sweetest Cupcake"

Carts Used:
Imagine and the cart "Better Together for the cupcake at 3". I cut the printed cupcake as 1 piece and also cut the layers so it would have some thickness and depth. Also, but printing/cutting the layers, I could glue the blank (no face) layers so I could stamp my own face.

The pink scalloped patterned paper was cut using Lacy Labels at 4.95 x 6.45. The rounded corner square cut from Just Because Cards at 3.25 x 4. I took that same shape and customized the shape to 6.5 x 12 for the strip running horizontally on the card.

A birthday card my 10 yr old made

Hello Crafty Friends! 2 weeks ago my 10 yr old dd wanted to make my MIL a bday card. My MIL LOVES to do crosswords. We saw a crossword rubber stamp at Js and knew we had to buy it.
My dd made this entirely by herself--with a little coaching from me. So proud of her!! She had to do a little math to figure out how to cut the paper into a patchwork and make it fit the card size and for the eyelet positions (nothing wrong with using math, huh?)
